Uwezo Girls’ Project
Teenage girls are increasingly at risk. Our culture dictates how they should look, act, and live in order to be enough. When the girls realize they can never live up to those unrealistic expectations, they detach themselves from reality and lose their true sense of worth and identity.
At Uwezo, we direct these young women to real solutions found only in a relationship with Jesus Christ. We aim to be a guide to the ever-increasing issues in confronting the pressures girls’ are facing, such as; constant comparison, deceiving messages of perfectionism through the media, peer pressure, unrealistic expectations and more that keep coming as we interact with them.
Through the reality of God’s love, Uwezo Uplift Foundation provides an environment of support and accountability in having counseling sessions to talk to the girls. This platform not only gives them an opportunity to sort out the issues that they have been unable to figure out on their own but also equips them with life skills necessary for forging on with life.
The hygiene of teenage girls is paramount now that they are at the peak of adolescence. We try to provide the basic items like sanitary pads, face creams, tissues and soap since most girls go an extra mile to the wrong direction just to acquire these basic things like prostitution.
If you have a calling and would like to volunteer as a counselor, kindly contact us to give you a plan.
