Children who build relationships with mentors learn how to set healthy boundaries and build relationships. By spending time an adult outside of their families, they improve their communication and interpersonal skills both of which help with relationships in childhood and adulthood.

Many kids struggle to maintain healthy self-esteem and feel confident about themselves. Mentorship helps them see accurately and recognize their strengths and accomplishments. Mentors are not extra parents or just supportive friends; they are God-appointed guides that lead children through their Childhood and transition to become reliable adults in future.

When schools close for holiday f Uwezo Uplift Foundation Team takes advantage of that time to have the Mentorships Program. The Team is always   eager to meet up with the Children to interact and catch up with them on School and other life issues. Uwezo Team realizes that a lot goes on in School and home and sometimes the children may be weighed down by issues and so the Team took time to engage the Children, listened to them and affirm and encourage them.

UUF organized different days for Children in different ages because they all go through different issues. We shared the Word of God with them and recited memory verses and allowed from the Scriptures. The Children also get opportunity to write letters to their godparents and share with them their progress.

We had an interactive session with them on school progress, home and other issues. They presented their report cards and wrote letters to their supporters. One of the Team members shared the word and taught them memory verses. It was such a good time to be the Children and even to encourage them because even the small ones go through challenges in their level.
